Michelle Obama Inspired By Malala Yousafzai’s Trip To Nigeria & Her #BringBackOurGirls Petition

17 year-old, Malala Yousafzai who has become a
reckoned activist for girl child education concluded
her three-day visit to Nigeria has kicked off an online
petition on change.org for the return of the missing
schoolgirls who were kidnapped from Chibok, Borno
state, Nigeria.

Change.org is a standard online petition website for
kickstarting any form of petition to a good cause.

Malala explained in her petition that she wanted the
global community to stand with the Nigerian girls and
shame those working to deny schoolgirls an
education.

As of Wednesday evening, Malala had collected over
60,000 signatures from concerned individuals and
groups from different parts of the world, many of who
demanded greater action for the prompt rescue of the
girls.

Michelle Obama however moved by Malala’s gestures
took to her official twitter page to show her solidarity
towards the #BringBackOurGirls cause.

Meanwhile, United Nations Special Envoy for Global
Education, and ex-British Prime Minister, Gordon
Brown, has hailed the efforts of the
#BringBackOurGirls coalition in campaigning for the
freedom of the abducted girls
