LAUTECH Students Protest Over NonPayment of Bursary

I got this mail
from a 500 Level student of the Ladoke Akintola
University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Yesterday
morning being Wed. April 2nd and she was
bringing to the public notice how the University
has refused to pay Indigent students their
bursaries after it was released! Read the message

Top of the morning to you Oga kingsley.
Writing to you is a student of Ladoke Akintola
University of Technology, Ogbomoso. I happened
to be one of the victims of this shameful act done
by the school authority. What really happened is
that Osun state students’ bursary has been sent
to school since last year October but to all our
surprises the bursary has not been disbursed to
its bonafied owners. Despite waiting patiently for
all our accounts to be credited in which nothing of
such happened, we (osun state students) decided
to make a protest as regards that yesterday.

Though, we have been promised that a lasting
solution would be found to the problem, but am
using this medium (if u can kindly post on your
wall) to hasten their actions (if there is any) as
most of the students need this money badly now
that we have our projects at hand & we’ll soon be
graduates of the school as our exams start by 7th
of this month. We all will appreciate it if this is
seen on your wall as we know how effective it will
be. Thank you

Please read a Notice issued by the school
government released the below Notice;
With reference to the peaceful protest embarked
upon today tuesday(1/4/14) by the 500L
LAUTECH students indigene of Osun State. This is
to inform us all that our grievances has been
tabled before the appropriate quarters for onward
and immediate disbursement of the money.

At a feedback meeting today with Prof.M.O
Ologunde of FSE dept,He assures us that the
payment will commence this week as He has
discuss the issue with the VC,the Bursar and all
other principal officers of the university
involved. And we also gave him our word that
whatever the testimony is (either PAID or NOT
PAID) by friday,we would come back and keep in
him informed.

At this juncture,we must commend the fatherly
role played by this wonderful and amiable
academic don and hope all other university
officers borrow a leaf of that.

*I hope they settle the matter and ay this students
oh! To school in Nigerian Universities this days is a
hell of its own…lol… The stress nor be here oh!
